Sandy Victims Need Your Help, Yorktown!
Although many people in the Yorktown community suffered damage from Hurricane Sandy, other families in towns only a few hours away are without basic necessities
Hurricane Sandy tore through the East Coast last week leaving a path of severe destruction and devastation. Although many people in the Yorktown community suffered damage from the storm, other families in towns only a few hours away are without basic necessities.
The Police Benevolent Association and the Shrub Oak Athletic Club will be hosting collection drives for the victims of this terrible storm. Please consider donating what you can and pass along this information to others.

Items being collected are water, non-perishable food, batteries, clean up supplies, blankets, baby formula and diapers.
Items will be donated to victims in Brooklyn. Two companies that are donating a truck to transport the donations as well as $1,000 worth of supplies are KD Industries and Brookfield Resource Management.

The need for clothing is limited at this time. Please donate one of these desperately needed items: Medicine (Tylenol, Advil, Motrin), First Aid Kits, Anticeptics, Face Masks, Contractor Garbage Bags, Boots (Waterproof), Waterproof Gloves/Rubber Gloves, Socks, Mops, Brooms, Cleaning Supplies (Bleach, Pinesol, Sponges, Scrub Brushes), Shovels, Empty Gas Cans, Snack Bars, Gift Cards (Home Depot, Lowes, Sears), Flashlights and Batteries
If you can please spend a little time collecting items or sorting items at any of the above time slots at the Admin Building it would be greatly appreciated. SOAC needs help distributing the items to the victims.
