Lakeland Blood Drive; School Taxes Due; Chance of Snow

1) The second half of the school taxes must be paid no later than Friday, Jan. 31 (which is the last day to pay without a penalty). For residents' convenience, the office of the Receiver of Taxes in Yorktown will be open on Jan. 30 and Jan. 31 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

2) A blood drive will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 29 from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School. There will be student greeters in the lobby to escort you to the drive, to take place in Cafeteria A.

3) Winter continues. Temperatures will be in the mid-20s today, according to the National Weather Service. You can also expect gusty winds and a chance of snow. 

4) An article reporting that suspended police Chief Brian Fanelli, was suicidal a week after his arrest for child porn possession, was the most read Patch post yesterday

5) The District-Wide PTSA informational meeting on full-day kindergarten in Yorktown will be held today at 7 p.m. with District Superintendent Dr. Ralph Napolitano at the Mildred E. Strang Middle School Cafeteria. It is open to the public. More details here.
