Candy Cane Runs Rescheduled; More Snow on the Way; Train Victims Fundraiser

1) The Somers Volunteer Fire Department's Candy Cane Run has been rescheduled for Saturday, Dec. 21. The Lake Mohegan Volunteer Fire Association's Candy Cane Run has been rescheduled until Saturday, Dec. 21 and Sunday, Dec. 22. Yorktown Heights Volunteer FD's Candy Cane Run has also been rescheduled until Sunday, Dec. 22.

2) The fundraiser for the victims of the Metro-North train derailment will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Hendrick Hudson High School. Proceeds will benefit the local families affected by the accident. If you cannot attend and want to donate, you can send a check to the Hendrick Hudson Lions Club, PO Box 45, Montrose, NY 10548 or use our PayPal link at www.hendrickhudsonlions.org.

4) Educators who have completed all of the requirements for a doctorate in education except for the dissertation may be interested in a new program offered by Manhattanville College in partnership with the Center for Educational Leadership at Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES. 5) More snow is on the way, according to the National Weather Service. The snow is expected to arrive before 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Temperatures will be in the high near 25. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches is possible.
